  Notes	Robert Peter Winslow of University Heights, Ohio, died from complications arising from surgery on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013. He was 85. Born Aug. 25, 1928, Bob operated and managed medical laboratories by profession over a career spanning more than 40 years ? starting out as a medical technician at St. Joseph?s Hospital in Warren, Ohio, then at Polyclinic Hospital in Cleveland. He subsequently ran his own business, the Miles Medical Laboratory, which served the medical community for more than 26 years. In retirement, he offered his professional skills and expertise at the Cleveland chapter of the American Red Cross. He taught laboratory medicine as an associate professor at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. A son of Peter and Elizabeth Winslow, he attended Farrell schools and graduated from Youngstown State University with a degree in biology. A veteran of the Korean conflict, he served in the U.S. Army in 1952 and 1953. His life was characterized by his devotion to the Catholic faith, his close family and friends and professional service to others. He was an avid tennis player, award-winning amateur winemaker and published horologist. Bob is survived by: his wife of 55 years, Mary Jane D?Agostino Winslow; three children, Dr. Christopher Winslow and his partner Janet, Evanston, Ill.; Dr. Laura Winslow and her partner Linda, Pittsburgh; and Thomas Winslow and his partner Mary Jane, Johannesburg, South Africa; and his brother, Richard Winslow, Sharon. His legacy lives on through four grandchildren, Andrew Winslow, Peter Winslow, Keneilwe Morifi-Winslow and Palesa Morifi-Winslow. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, in Church of the Gesu, 2470 Miramar Blvd., University Heights, Ohio. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the church one hour before and after Mass. Burial will be private.
